Bratwursts in Beer

Ingredients:

  • 6 Bratwurst
  • 1 Large Onion
  • 2 Tsp Minced Garlic
  • 1 Tsp Brown Sugar
  • 3 Tbs Butter
  • 2 Plops of Mustard
  • 3 Beers
  • 2  Tbs Vinegar

  •   2 Bay Leaves
  •   ½ Tsp Caraway Seed
  • 1 Tsp Dried Thyme
  • 1 Tsp Worcester Sauce
  • ½ Tsp Dried Marjoram
  • 6 Conshohocken Rolls

Now don't let all these ingredients scare you off. If you have the time you want to do this recipe the night before anyway. If you don't have the time or all of these ingredients just remember the main ones the beer and the brats. Whatever else you want to add will only make a good thing better. Poke a bunch of holes in the brats and then combine everything except the rolls into a covered pot. Heat on medium-high until boiling. Boil for 25 minutes stirring occasionally. Pull the brats out, let them cool down and put in a freezer bag or container then back in the fridge until you're ready to pack the cooler for the tailgate party. You should also strain the onions out, let 'em cool and pack them up in aluminum foil. Now you just have to heat them up on the grill for a few minutes while turning them. Just put your onion pack on the grill for 10 minutes and they're ready to add to a good roll with your grilled brat. I also like to just cut up the brats and serve them as finger food.
